Am I the only one in Pittsburgh with a 100+ year old house AND a completely dry basement? I would think this is not normal but based on the comments it sounds like it’s me who has the abnormal basement.

As long as he is not my councilman anymore I’m all for it. He has accomplished nothing. He campaigned on “painting over graffiti” himself if he has to in order to get back to basics, yet nothing has changed since he took office.

I should have kept reading the thread it’s the same as the one posted below.
Any slight flavor variation is probably due to brand of ingredients but this is probably as close as one can get with ingredients at home.

I've heard of so many folks with this exact same thing...granted it's anecdotal, but interesting how prevalent it is and how exact the symptoms seem to be.

12+ days. That is how long it took for me to finally not need to blow my nose nonstop all day after having the same thing. Started like a light cold, then moved into sinus infection for like 10 days. Just finally giving up and having some drinks during the Super Bowl seems to have knocked it out of me.

Well the problem is a lot of folks don't even realize that its perfectly fine earlier in the evening, they simply hear South Side and the clenching commences.

I’ve never seen an actual gated community in the Pittsburgh area. They may exist but they are going to be pretty rare.

3 bedroom 1600 sqft…104 years old. Electric and gas (68° thermostat setting) are $100 a month each, water is $35, sewer is $40, trash is included in city taxes.
It’s just me in be house though.

And here I am in Pittsburgh and I paid to replace my own curb (on a cobblestone street too). There was metal on mine so I was glad to pay for their replacement.

I’ve had them come pick some of the ones that completely fell off the sidewalks, but technically the curb is the property owners responsibility. The city may not want to mess with the owners sidewalk/curb as then the owner could come back at the city for the condition of whatever is underneath saying they jacked it up. A 311 request about the condition of the sidewalk may work if the owner gets cited.

There are multiple places downtown with outdoor dining. I know Tako and Butcher and the Rye (currently set up as a ski lodge vibe) have outdoor seating and perhaps some others along Penn Avenue

I was under the impression those doors just go to the other tunnel. So if something happens in one tunnel you exit via the other tunnel. If something happens in both, well I guess it’s good luck.

Perhaps it really isn’t normally 40 mins at the time of day you are driving it. I’m 10 mins from downtown at 3 am but 30 at 7:30 am. Both of those are normal drive times.

One front corner of my house is ground level then the hillside slopes downward in all directions ending up with a walkout basement in the back.
It may be due to the upkeep done by previous owners. It was a very well maintained home by the same older woman for many many years.
