When are you planning on visiting? Mount Rainier is only open for weekends currently, and the trails are all under snow.

I’d recommend going to Cape Disappointment and Long Beach. Or down the Oregon coast to Cannon Beach.

Legally they have to give you 12 weeks(though they don’t have to pay you). But if you didn’t sign up for FMLA prior to delivery and extended your maternity leave beyond the agreed upon time. You have abandoned post and will not be covered by unemployment.

You’re probably not going to find lodging this time of year and there’s really only one day worth of activities.

Are you renting a car to drive over from Seattle? If not you’re going to have to get a bus ticket which is $$ and the buses require reservations.

Personally I’d go to Port Townsend or Poulsbo. Both have the European feel, and they don’t have half the crowds with more to do.

Don’t risk the Tesla. You never know how long the drive back over the pass is going to take. It’s not unusual to be stuck hours in bad weather trying to get back home. You don’t want to lose charge and be the cause of another long delay.

Even if you have awd you need to get chains for whatever car you choose. Practice putting them on for your trip before you go. Watch some driving in snow videos for helpful tips.

Edit: Also hoping to drive over sounds like you haven’t made hotel reservations. Unless you are staying with family most hotels will be booked solid. Or will cost $$$ because it’s that time of year.

It’s probably too late for you to get a hotel at this point. They normally book out a year in advance. I would look at Cashmere or Wenatchee for lodgings.

Be prepared for a huge crowd and cold weather. Make sure your tires are in good condition and you have chains (and know how to use them). Check pass reports for Bluet and Snoqualmie pass. I would get there and park an hour before everything opens. Parking is extremely limited and you need to be there the entire day to enjoy the tree lighting.

Plan on visiting the sites in Cashmere and Wenatchee. There’s really only one days worth of activity in Leavenworth.
