Thanks for that info! This is my 4th winter here and I don’t recall it being like this.

Adriana’s in New Haven is a great family style place. One other one that I’ve enjoyed but haven’t heard it come up in conversations is Consiglio’s in New Haven as well.

I taken an Uber once and it was in the ballpark of $60-$70 if I recall. There are ways via transit that’ll get you to the train station in New Haven. In general I find it less hectic.

Flying into Hartford is an easier route. I fly back and forth to LA all the time and use a direct flight from Jet Blue. About a 50 minute drive from Hartford to New Haven.

I’m almost positive I’ve seen it there before but i guess i could be wrong. Either way you can’t go wrong with any sandwich from there.

It’s worth it. It’s one dude that runs the place and he is a really nice guy. It is a few bucks more but I’m fine with it. Ray N Mikes in Hamden is also a top notch place to get a chopped cheese or any kind of sub.

Here is a post I made not too long ago to discuss all things CT Hockey. There may not be the Whalers but there are a lot of other teams here that deserve more attention before you can consider Hartford to have a team again.

Last season they switched to being called the Islanders. Logo change and all.

This is a grossly inaccurate statement. On TV maybe, but I’ve seen an incredible amount of talent out there at the AHL and NCAA level that is just as competitive as NHL. Especially AHL since those guys are literally battling out there to get called up to their NHL squad.

That’s my thought too. The way i look at it is that you can get the stripped down rink at Yale or drive 15 minutes up Whitney to QU for a more modern arena. Best of both worlds.

Hartford doesn’t deserve an NHL team until attendance is better for at least the AHL teams was my point. You can’t ask for an NHL team if you don’t invest in the hockey community that already exists here. Point being, there’s a great list of teams to watch that need more attention.

Last season they started with the new branding to “have a stronger identity to NYI”. Honestly those BST jerseys were sick and it bums me out I wasn’t living here at the time to snag a BST jersey.

Ahhh yeah SHU as well! Having lived here for a little over 2 years now I’m amazed of all the hockey I can go to at nearly any given moment.

Earlier this year I couldn’t find a large option while ordering online. When I called they said they only do Large for dine in because people were complaining about the quality of the large pizza by the time they arrived back home with their take out order. Sally’s is definitely a favorite but it’s hard to make an effort to go there with their god awful wait times and poor management.

I have a similar living situation. Old multi family home, first floor, poor insulation. I keep it at 60° all the time except in the evening i turn it up between 68 and 70. Before going to bed it’s back to 60°. Of course if guests were over I’d bump it up too. The difference in bill was maybe $125 compared to when i had it on all day like you described.
