It was down 25 days. Back entry and recovery took the lab almost 8 months. Back logs and covid and more acutely ill patients after restoration- who knows if that is still happening or some other factor. The hospital is always full.

The article and you offer no alternative to the racist word. Do you have a suggested substitute?

Reply to Suppose budget was no issue. What inter-town/city rail connections would you build, either within Vermont or from places in Vermont to elsewhere? by DrToadley
Something from Plattsburgh, Albany, NYC, Boston, DC, Portland, to Burlington. Basically connect BTV to cities in surrounding states. Plattsburgh because the volume of daily commuters both to and from has to be a lot. If ur going to take a rail it needs to drop u in places that are walkable, have public transit, or reliable and active uber/lyft or taxis.

I understand the plot of Wednesday, and enjoyed it, thanks for explaining the fiction part. These two facts about actual Jericho made me question the above:
The Browns were the first European family to settle in Jericho, in 1774, building a cabin near the Browns River.[6] https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jericho,_Vermont
It seemed like they could have used a town with a stronger pilgrim connection. Also, it was weird they changed the est. date. But, it's not like most people know much about VT anyways, just seemed like a weird town to pick.

Did anyone else try to figure out the pilgrim's relationship to Jericho VT? I was like hmm. And the sign said est in the 1600s and I think Jericho vt was later?

Reply to Best heating oil company to use? We need kerosene but can't afford $7/ gallon at the company we called. New to this type of heating and kinda struggling to figure this out. Company says minimum of 100 gallon order. Our tank is 275g . 275x7= omg in gonna freeze to death. by [deleted]
I don't know your situation, and this isn't exactly what you asked, but if this can help you or someone else: https://dcf.vermont.gov/benefits/eap
I would google kerosene delivery to your area and call and compare prices. Unfortunately by me all of the places charge the same.

Reply to comment by Distinguished_Parrot in Vermont State Vehicle Inspections: Anyone else just over it? by TwoStepsTooFar
My car caught on fire exactly 1 month after a vermont state inspection on the highway. I had just dumped 1000 into brakes and rotors because those failed. I had done all of the recommended maintenance and always had some emergency to keep it on the road. Bought a new car last may and already need new rotors as mine are 'rusty'.

Reply to comment by RamaSchneider in Record staffing shortage leads Howard Center to reduce ‘crisis beds’ by RamaSchneider
Vt has an older median age compared to most of the nation. the 'older' our state gets, the more social services it will need to care for the elderly population. We need more workers. We need more services. We need to be more humane to caregivers and pay them enough to survive in this state, or we will have a horribly underserved elderly/ sick pop. It's not great as it is, which the pandemic shone a crystal clear light on. So when you are frail and unable to care for yourself, what is the alternative? A robot? You need humans for these roles right now. Nobody wants to do it because it's been horrible for a while, and the wear and tare on your body and mind isn't currently worth it. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_U.S._states_and_territories_by_median_age
