The Turnpike is replacing toll booths with gantries. They're the high-speed cameras that read ez-pass and license plates at highway speed. The buildings will contain the electronics/computers necessary for the gantries to function. Once installed, the toll booths will be demolished, and you'll be tolled based on which gantries you passed through rather than where you got on/off. NY and MA already have these installed on their toll roads (but without fancy masonry because, you know, gotta justify the rip-off toll prices here)
