NBC really only does Notre Dame football and most of the college football season is over before the NBA even starts and certainly over by the time people start caring about watching NBA basketball.

i would expect that they’d put a fair amount of games on USA during the week, too, if they’re bidding against TNT here

yeah, they know they screwed up selling the US rights of Yellowstone to Peacock before Paramount+ became a thing. fwiw, in other places, the show, including episodes from the current season, is on Paramount+.

the apps are pretty universally bad on every platform i’ve used it on, though it seems weird that 4K/HDR and Atmos aren’t available in some regions apparently. if it’s in the US, i’d figure the same content would be available with this formats elsewhere

presumably, NBC and CBS and ESPN and so on wouldn't be spending billions more on rights if they didn't think they could convert americans into viewers and subscribers of their services. and given that NBC just paid $2.7billion for six years of rights (compared to $1 billion for the six years before) they seem to think they've been successful

obviously, i know the reason is money, but it's still annoying that they keep many matches (including most of the 'big' ones) on their cable channels with no way to stream them without paying for something expensive like YouTube TV or cable tv. whereas ESPN, with the obviously much less expensive La Liga and Bundesliga, let you watch everything via ESPN+, including the odd matches they put on their cable channels

it's not on Paramount+...

for now, you'd either need access to Paramount Network (through something like Philo, YouTube TV, etc) or to buy the individual episodes from the season from iTunes, Amazon, etc.

as far as i know, Peacock will still be the place to see season 5 later on in the US, though it'll be on Paramount+ in Canada and some other places

(this is all very dumb, of course, but they sold the rights to Peacock before Paramount+ even existed)

i don't think it's something i've noticed, but hockey is not exactly a popular sport in the US so would probably have more trouble selling that kind of advertising space

i don't think anything has been worse for the country than CNN / Fox News / MSNBC.

otherwise, there's a lot of networks that i think are filled with useless or boring programming, but some people seem to get value out of most of them so why would i care when i can just as easily ignore them myself. i, too, think the programming on Nickelodeon and Disney Channel pales in comparison to what they had in my childhood, but i'm a 34 year old man now and my 7 year old nephew seems to like what they're offering
