I sometimes borrow a book from the library. If I like it, I buy it so that I can read it whenever I want without the time limit.

Crusader Kings 2 is even better suited for a Game of Thrones game, although no game of thrones game could be worse than the strategy game Game of Thrones Genesis.

Wheel of Time. Think it would be a good semi open world (sorta like the third Witcher game, I suppose) rpg with branching storylines for each main character
