Methane (CH4) is the second most impactful greenhouse gas, second to Carbon Dioxide (CO2). It has a CO2 equivalent of 84x, meaning every 1 litre of Methane released is equivalent to 84 litres of Carbon Dioxide. It contributes to a countries carbon footprint, and is therefore considered to be a carbon emission, to be pedantic.
