I have a friend who is constantly broke and trying to figure out how to stretch his groceries until next payday. But every year he gets a $6k tax refund. He can't seem to wrap his head around the fact that he's loaning the government $500/mo, interest free, and has to wait the whole year to get it back. Foolish.

I've set mine up so I pretty much break even every year. Most years I get a small refund, this year I'll probably owe a bit.

I agree. As adults, most of us have lost people we care about. Unless it was recent, I don't expect anybody to assume I'm still grieving over a loss. If there's something about that person I want somebody else to know, I'll come out and tell them.

I lost my grandmother, who I loved dearly, two months ago. I don't expect anybody to feign sympathy or ask questions about her. She was 90, it didn't exactly come out of nowhere.

At low airspeeds, larger control inputs are required to affect a change in direction. As such, the pilot's actions seem much more exaggerated.

Additionally, in slow flight the aircraft's speed is controlled by attitude (pitching up or down). Altitude is controlled with the throttle. When landing, precise control over the airspeed is required, resulting in very frequent changes in pitch.

Lastly, the plane is affected more by wind gusts while landing, so constant corrections must be made by rolling to the left and right.
