woot woot, another Hillie here! I've always liked how Haverhill is relatively close to the mountains, the shore and the city.

OP, if you are not wedded to teaching, there are loads of other job opportunities. For example, the utility industry is screaming for analysts and struggling to fill positions. I have an engineering degree and my linked in is full of job ops in that field.

Yes. Part of my kitchen is cantilevered over the back yard with no foundation underneath so it is always a few degrees colder than the rest of the house. This morning at 9 am it was 47 degrees in the kitchen and 64 degrees in the dining room where the thermostat is.

The dilemma, should I pay thousands to add a foundation or get takeout on the few days per winter that it is a real inconvenience.

Yes there are, Lo's in Stratham NH is wonderful. It's tiny and packed full of goodness. I haven't been for awhile but the prices were good, too. Like for $50 bucks I could stock up on all kinds of noodles, dry mushrooms, curry paste etc.

Sounds right. When I lived at the 'rents I wore shorts in the winter because they heat the house to 70 degrees F and I was sleepy all the time. My neighbor has central air, I've seen his kids wearing flannel pj's in summer. Practically speaking though, if you need to just run outside and throw something in the recycle or trash bins or grab the mail, sweep off the steps, why would you get all dressed up in winter gear?
