Thanks for visiting and the feedback! I 3d scanned the interior with a Leica BLK 360 and Matterport Pro 2 following a similar process as I did at Luxor Temple here: https://blog.mused.org/digitizing-luxor-temple-a-virtual-field-trip-for-students-around-the-globe/
I'll write up a new post about Khufu next.
I used the Matterport SDK with Three.js to build the Guided Tour version because in the past this has been much more accessible to our users than alternative methods in game engines.
I'd previously been building digital exhibitions for museums and libraries often enough that by working with a few of my friends from other cultural heritage projects, we experimented with integrating a virtual guided tour and digital exhibition content (longer form narratives, item/artifact records + metadata, membership signup, etc.). That's what we're working on now.

Thanks for visiting & the feedback, and yes, I've been working with some friends at a few sites now, mostly around the Mediterranean, Central America, and Eastern Asia.
Earlier this year, I worked at Luxor Temple with the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and the University of Chicago: https://luxortemple.mused.org/
And at St Catherine's Monastery / Museum in the Sinai with the Saint Catherine's Foundation: https://stcatherines.mused.org/
The other sites that are still coming out are in progress building content and will publish blog articles about them as each launches (at https://blog.mused.org/ if it's interesting).

Hey all, wanted to share: I 3d scanned the interior of Khufu's pyramid for the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and Giza Project at Harvard University under the direction of Doctor Peter Der Manuelian and working on site with Inspector Ezzat Salama.
I just finished coding up the guided version here and would love any feedback/problems you might encounter to continue to improve.
I've been interviewing 6th grade social studies teachers to try to use the 3d scans I've been making for creating educational resources and wrote the tour and some related articles so students can continue learning after visiting.
Cheers from Cairo, and thanks for any feedback/comments.

Thanks for sharing! I built this and am still working on some bugs in mobile Safari in case anyone has issues. The 3d capture was done with a Leica BLK 360 and Matterport Pro 2, and the guided tour is built with the Matterport SDK and Three.js.
I've mostly been working around the Mediterranean, Eastern Asia, and Central America partnering with various projects that wanted 3d capture and will publish on our blog as we launch more sites like this one if it's interesting: https://blog.mused.org/
