It's grippy. So I wonder if being grippy I am less likely to drop it. I had spiegen and it slipped off my hands a couple of times, but no damage. Kind of a chicken and the egg thing. Is dropping less but less protection better than dropping more and better protection.

but my question is about actual shock protection. I can't find any real life comparisons.

standard as in typical one sold by most 3rd party - not the super slim ones or super thick
