I used to hang out with Velma who lived across the street from my old house. She was in her late 80s, walked 3 blocks to the YMCA every morning for yoga class, then came home, made lunch, and enjoyed it with a Miller Lite (or two). Loved her.

I do, unless my plan is to stay inside all day. I like Trader Joe’s daily facial sunscreen. It’s SPF 40 in a translucent matte gel that goes on smooth like a makeup primer. I use it on top of a light moisturizer.

It's really intense here in Hartford; this was an excellent reminder to get my phone and backup pack all charged up just in case.

I moved here from Pennsylvania; I love driving and have driven all over the country, and I think the worst general driving behavior I've seen has been here in CT (FYI I live in downtown Hartford). The most common thing I see is people just sitting there when the light turns green, and not looking up until the very last second, and now they're the ONLY car that can go on that green light. Oh, and are cars just sold without turn signals here? I'm now honestly shocked when I see one being used, especially to signal lane changes. My wife has already had her car totaled when a guy in a truck decided to make a right turn into her from the left lane, and I just know my time is coming. We've been here four months, people. I like this state way more than I expected, but the driving here is harrowing.

We have a parking spot around back and a garage spot; a guy in our building reported a “break-in” in his admittedly unlocked car in the same lot, but we haven’t had issues with that. We’ve had a few packages stolen from out front, even with a camera, so I’m looking into renting a mailbox at the UPS store.

We moved here from Pittsburgh a few months ago, bought a condo in a historic district downtown, and mostly love it. I’m glad we have cars, and cats instead of kids. I definitely have to drive for groceries and basic necessities, but enjoy walking to parks and rivers and museums on my days off.
