Hey there, I am in the same boat and I unfortunately haven't had any luck as well. I am 24 & attending grad school here so I feel like if I were to join clubs in undergrad colleges, it may be weird. It's hard to get out and meet people when the only option is sports related, I am not a huge fan of playing sports & I have tried using meetup.com and discord, but it's so spaced out. I have been doing my own thing, but I would love to meet others! It is definitely a culture shock up here, for sure.
