I’m a teacher, I don’t even think I would have made a good cop. If I would have know what I could make I could have sucked it up, hell I would be looking at retirement in 10 years. I’m sure one or two of these people aren’t the best at coping either.

A couple of months ago my wife was waiting on line at a dollar tree while someone was buying $60 worth of Christmas decorations for a school. The woman also has one solitary Hanukkah decoration as she it get rung up she says “you know these days you have to be politically correct”. The cashier goes “it was so much better before THEY ruined everything!” My wife a Jew is standing there in shock and then just cracked up about it.

I still blame my wife for making the PTA spend $1.25 on a Star of David.

When I was taking classes for my supervisors cert I had an excellent professor who spent a lot of time going over all the work you needed to do to fire a teacher. It was a lot of work, but according to him perfectly achievable. His bigger picture message was that doing that work was important because it gave the teacher ample opportunities to improve but also moved people who didn’t belong out of the classroom. I never became an administrator but that message stuck with me. Most admins clearly don’t have my old prof’s work ethic.
