What annoys me is headphone manufacturers who hide the left and right symbol in tiny little crevices or corners or grey text on black etc.

On a side note I was actually surprised how well some of the Soviet orthos from the 80s I picked up sounded. For a country just coming into the fold of consumer goods they got off to a pretty good start, the only main weakness being some of them look like I’m wearing a tank driver’s HP!

Those I admit I’ve never had the privilege of hearing.

Some of these people crack me up. Even if we pretend there is a difference, you’ll get so lost in the music after a few minutes you won’t even end up noticing the very minute details. I tried Tidal, noticed no differences to my ears on my HEKse and Utopia and kept Spotify. I’m not going to throw out years of playlists and a better GUI just to hear a hi-hat at a slightly different pitch. There is more to a service than bitrate.

“ who is switching gear all the time”.
Me. Listening to music on my ADX5000 with its delicate, reserved weeb tuning is a vastly different experience than say my Focal Utopia which will rumble and growl at you for instance. It’s fun to experiment in this manner. I’d love to hear the HE1 though but i’d have to travel out of state to ever get the chance.

I’d rather have $40k worth of multiple headphones and amps of different sound signatures. But then again people who will shell out $40k for a headphone usually have those as well.

Every headphone I have even totl ones, I apply a mild v-shape in EQ and that’s it, neutral snobs sue me.

Not sure why people seem to think they all sound the same. My DT990 if properly amped rivals the likes of $1000 headphones that the lower ohms just can't touch.
