I'm not an uber driver so I am not sure what it looks on their end. I don't know if you can set yourself up to ONLY accept Pet/owner clients or not. My impression on the client side is that they're just regular drivers who choose to opt in to also taking pets. It'd be cool if they had the option to just focus on pet taxiing though, if that's what someone wanted to do.

UberPet is a specific option now, so the drivers who make themselves available for that should know what they are getting into since animals often smell.

Yeah, I recall that they specifically had a significant, multi-year grant from Verizon for the ipads and techlab stuff. But it was Northside (and maybe one other school) exclusive.

The state's auditor general called them out for this years ago (almost a decade at this point) and then the state/DOE did absolutely nothing about it, so presumably they can do this.

Not sure how much they have in terms of amenities these days. Propel enrollment is way down, so their funding would be way down. It's also quite unequal across the board with their schools. Some schools have jackshit, and their teachers make do with the bare minimum (or pay a ton out of pocket for their own stuff).

95% of the school districts in this area do the exact same thing with re-assessing any new buyers to outrageous amounts. That's why there's new threads about this issue every single day on this subreddit, with people freaking out from all over the county. I am not sure why you are acting like this is a Penn Hills-specific issue. The millage rate is certainly a Penn Hills issue, but the "newcomers tax/re-assessment" aspect isn't. Especially when if you are re-assessed high enough in some of the richer districts, your tax is still going to be through the roof.

In Pittsburgh, no/unlikely. It still might be possible in Penn Hills, though the houses that are under $100K sell quickly, often to investors. You'd also have to be wary of the property taxes. My property taxes are well less than half of your condo fees (not including anything else), but my house is assessed quite low too because I bought it outright for $45K. They are likely to continue to rise due to school district issues & the ways things are done in this state.

Bill doesn't finalize until the 12th or 13th, but I am interested to see if raises the average enough to boost the budget plan. They've done that before. Currently the budget plan is $64.

Waterworks has nothing like Imax. You might be thinking of Pittsburgh Mills down 28, which used to have an Imax screen (and a much larger one than Waterfront). However, they strangely got rid of it with the new ownership (and with it the only reason to ever go out there).
