It’s worse than that. It’s totally inconsistent. Some places it property. Some places it’s income. Some it both. I used to work for a large corporation based in another state. They could not deduct from my paycheck as it was too complex for the payroll system.

Local taxes are different depending on county, township, borough, school district. And they are managed by different companies as well. In short it’s a mess.

I agree with the other comment and owning 5 - 10 acres in pa is not all that big a deal. A good realtor should be able to help you check on the requirements to build on the land.

Look into mineral rights. Many/most properties in pa do not come with mineral rights. Put very simplistically some company can show and mine/drill/strip your property for coal, limestone, oil, sand etc. Used to happen more often when coal mining was big. In general you will not see 1Gbps per connection on wireless. Yes in theory it can be done but in the real world with typical consumer equipment in a home, it doesn’t happen. If you get 500+ Mbps per device your doing good. If you really want high speed you need to run a cable.

So I don’t have 1Gbps fiber. But I get the 500Mbps I pay for. When it has issues they have fixed them. Performance issues take a bit of persistence. Took a few calls. But they sent guys out and fixed it.

If you have not and can, test the performance hardwired at the router. Lost of thing can get in the way of getting a full gig to a wifi connected device.

Check to see if your homeowners policy covers your service lines. If not check to see if you can get added coverage for this. You may be able to cover all of your utility lines with your homeowners policy for a reasonable price.

I get mailers and inserts from my gas, water, sewer and power lines almost monthly. They are relentless.

If you believe your mail in vote was lost or will not be counted for some technical reason. You can vote provisional. They review each provisional ballot after all the other votes are counted. If they see you already vote by mail or in person your provisional ballot will not be counted. I did this after my mail in ballot got lost in the postal system. The even notified me they counted it…. More than a week later.

Yes check this. Google maps has lots of private lanes and drives shown in rural PA. I am guessing they are on township maps.

Unfortunately in rural areas you have to mark drives/lanes private and post property. The new method using purple paint makes it a lot easier. Not sure how well recognized that is yet.
