If the people Conway don’t want the eyesores of big signs, they have every right to put that in zoning laws. It’s called democracy! Enjoying your Freedom responsibly doesn’t mean doing anything you want to do and the hell with everyone else.

Oh, I totally understand. But, once you allow it and open that door, I think others will take advantage and erect their own, perhaps uglier, signage.

The thing is, maybe that ordinance is in place so the town doesn’t have to deal with unsightly billboards or large signs. If they let him keep it, it won’t be long before another business tries to erect a large sign (that may not be as tasteful as the donut mural). Having come from a place that has ugly signs everywhere (Georgia), I can understand why the city wants to fight this.

Exactly my point. There is no way a Starship-based lunar lander will be ready in time. In fact, I believe the Starship will not be used as a lander at all and expect to see NASA use a more conventional design.

The same NASA that contracted with SpaceX for the yet to be seen Moon Landing System for Artemis.

I actually came across the “Betty and Barney Hill Abduction” state historical marker on Hwy 3 in Indian Head a few weeks ago. It was dusk, and it actually gave me the creeps just driving thru there lol.

I was once out hiking, and the blue sky overhead had a few little puff balls of clouds. I saw what I can only describe as a “bright star” moving across the sky. I thought it was probably an airplane that was catching the sunlight. It went into one of the small clouds, and didn’t come out! I sat there watching for it to emerge from the cloud for what what seemed like a few minutes, wondering “what the heck?”. Then suddenly, the bright star shot straight up out of the cloud in a spiraling motion and quickly disappeared. To this day, I can’t explain what I saw. I’m an amateur astronomer, so I’m pretty certain it was any kind of astronomical or meteorological phenomena. It makes a good story though!

There’s lots of things in the sky we occasionally can’t explain. Who knows WHAT you saw?! At the very least, you have a great story to tell at parties 👍
