As a professional Physicist, I'd say go where you think you'll be happiest. They're both departments of decent repute, NJIT ain't in the greatest area but it's mostly it's own little microcosm so should be fine. Live on campus though, in either case.

What used to be Kathmandu in Trenton has a good industrial vibe. You don't say where you want to do this. I bet the Communipaw terminal in Liberty State Park can be rented for such things too, likely fits the bill.

Basically in the same boat. Well, it was a plane. But I travel a lot for work, and did live in CA for a few months too, so I identify with a few other places quite strongly too.

I do get much the same experience going to California and finding Safeway off the scale expensive, but still cheaper than many other options in the area...

Barely go to ShopRite since Lidl opened across the road here, and wife works opposite Aldi. Lowest prices around at ShopRite? Not even close.
