Is there any standardization of the use of the word "ancient"? Feels like, in the context of Egyptian mummies, the Ptolemaic dynasty is not very ancient/the headline is almost misleading.

Sometimes things are that way, because the bad thing is much larger in scale/scope than the good, but if this happens often for you then you should probably see a therapist or some other emotional support person. The bad shouldn't kill all the good.

I think that commenter's point is that those two creatures have very similar forms but one is giant compared to the other, while us and whales have relatively different forms.
If Gigantopithecus was still around, I feel like they'd meet this sort of qualification, being very similar to humans in form but much greater in size.

One of my friends has dogs, her boyfriend went to the bathroom and the rest of us went to hide to prank like we left the house because he was taking a long time. The dogs seemed to sense that we were hiding from him, postured defensively between him and us and even barked at him when he came out.
He's not even a stranger, they've been together almost a decade, one of the dogs prefers to cuddle with him instead of her, they just read those situational cues a little wrong. They would almost certainly attack a stranger if their owners were hiding and actually scared.
