the companies pay massive amounts of money to air commercials during the super bowl. lots of people will be watching and also lots of people will actually be watching the commercials because they expect them to be special. Once the company has decided to pay that huge fee to air their commercial during the super bowl it just makes sense to try and make it as special/memorable as possible and having celebs in it is one way to do that.

IMDb is very useful. why do you think it sucks? I've never noticed it loading slowly. what do you think is a better alternative?

IMDb can do this (with crew as well as cast), and find if there is a film that has any two people you search for https://www.imdb.com/search/common/
