He came highly recommended from several local business owners. But you’re right, I could have done more due diligence and hopefully someone else doesn’t get financially screwed the same way. I’m always learning. Again, I’m sorry you had a bad experience but I take offense at calling our gym unsafe. We are an incredibly knowledgeable, dedicated and experienced team. Based on your comment history I can see why we weren’t a good fit for you. I hope you’re happy elsewhere.

Honestly you need to be looking at the places everyone recommends all the time. People make money at those places because they’re always busy and usually small with high table turnover or people who stay but keep ordering. Bamboo, Stella’s, Perly’s, Moore st. Etc. but you’re also looking at the new person working there being there for 6 years. So it’s not just a work environment but a family.

Places like can can would make a fuck ton more money if they only had two or three people working service well. Instead they have one for the whole restaurant and you get your food before your drinks. Hard to upsell when you can’t provide goods.

Then you have your frat places or late night spots. You’ll make money but be dealing with a lot of “my dads a lawyer” Chad’s and l wear my hat backwards and snap my fingers at you shitty coke dealers. Who might tip or might write their phone number for you. Usually volume makes up for them but you’re tired and not home before 3-5 am.

Yes this city is super insular - we know who we want to work with and who we don’t. My biggest recommendation to Get into a place is to frequent there and make friends with the staff- that way if you want an in- you know someone. Don’t be a douche, tip well and when there’s an opening float your résumé.

Meat and cheese roll ups, probably. Or a steak and salad.

Want to shout out HCA Retreat hospital. Went in last night because I couldn’t breathe, coughing and wheezing and shortness of breath. They were super quick, I was in and out in 4 hours. I thought I might be slightly overreacting but they were pretty up front that my breathing was concerning. I was super impressed with the staff and care.

I send a list every year for me and my s/o and keep a notes app on my phone with a running list of things mentioned by friends and family so I can always have a gift idea ready. My sister sent us hers for her and her husband and it says “ivf support and T shirts that aren’t just plain black. (Apparently we get him the same kind every year)😂) not a lot to go on this year

My parents moved to Florida last year and my mom is stressed about Christmas because it’s “too cold here” now 😂. I had to remind her of the first year in the USA when my dad had us in Lakevale Minnesota for the winter of ‘96 and we had 12 feet of snow. From South Africa to that was too cold.

For some people to pay me the back rent owed so I can feel a little less financially stressed.

I knew when I covered it at the time that it was a possibility I’d never see it again, and I’m ok with those choices because two people were in a really bad spot and needed compassion over business acumen, but they have stated it’s coming my way and it would be a huge blessing to have that stress off of my heart and soul.

Whoever said money doesn’t buy happiness has never been poor, financial security is so fucking major to health and happiness.

Also I’d like a new pair of tennis shoes and a pair of jeans that don’t have worn holes in the seat or don’t fall down after two hours

I am in a onesie on my couch because I spent $400 on my dog today preventing a $1900 overnight hospital visit because I recognized the signs of HGE quickly enough to pause it before it wrecked her. Did you know no emergency vets are taking animals right now? Also shout out to Mechanicsville animal hospital for literally taking my crazy ass seriously and helping me today - I will go to bat for them every day of the week.

That’s $400 I don’t have because we just spent $2900 two days ago on our 4 year old pups ACL repair. I’m never ever ever going to catch a break it seems.

Oh and the $25k doors I ordered 279 days ago that were supposed to be installed in June and were PROMISED to be installed on Sunday day are now not coming until sometime next week. Which once again makes me a liar to my team because the install company is like “lol my bad.”

I’m hanging on by a fucking thread and it’s not looking great.

I have a friend who is a substance abuse counselor now- DM me your number and I can connect you. Also, check out Safe Bars RVA - maybe they can also connect you with your background and desire to help moving forward.

I’ve been trying to get a Richmond chapter of https://www.iheardyou.org going to! Would love to partner with them.
