I don't think that surplus calculation is correct but that article gets the source from the CNN article which doesn't mention that surplus.
Either way, it's way more efficient than any other type of fuel.

Yes but many of them are in mountains, so it works.

There's a truck like this working with batteries that almost doesn't need charging because it charges going full downhill and empty uphill.
You can't do that with hydrogen.

It's the cheapest because it has become cheap, not because it's more efficient than before. Efficient panels are way more expensive.

I've never heard of recycling services not accepting glass, it's one of the most recycled materials we have because it is actually not that expensive to do it compared to getting more sand to make new glass.
Glass bottles are more expensive than plastic yes, doesn't mean we shouldn't use them more.

Yes, for businesses it's very worth it, I know a company that moved CNC machines to another factory warehouse that had tons of solar panels because they had surplus and it pays off quickly if you use it.

Usually it goes to the business first, surplus goes to the public and you get paid very badly for what you provide extra. It's unlikely to have much surplus at all though since businesses work during the day when production is high, so it's just cheaper electricity.
