Did he have any thoughts on it? I do know 7th grade boys are famous for "I don't know" as a response to anything.

Interesting. Do you know if Canada has the same push for banning books in public schools & libraries, like Precious, GenderQueer, or The Bluest Eye. There is always an obnoxious group at school board meetings screaming about it.

What part of the country has 12-year old reading The Outsiders in 2016? My public school in US, VA, in the 90's had to get special permission for kids to read & watch The Scarlett Letter because it discussed s-e-x. Can't imagine The Outsiders would have been allowed. I think it is great though.

Other books by the same author? Would you suggest them in any particular order?

Walking an unleashed dog that attacks a person should be treated the same as shooting a gun into a crowd. You took the risk

They had me at duck pin bowling. Nothing will have the charm of Southside Plaze Bowl though.

As a short person, this is the only option. Without fail a 6 foot 4 fidgety guy always, always, always sits in front of me. Stopped going to plays because spent the whole time dodging that one dude.

Wouldn't have helped in this case, but in US Virginia there is JP's Law. "JP’s Law allows individuals to VOLUNTARILY add an innocuous code to their Virginia issued driver’s licenses and/or identification card noting they have autism or an intellectual disability. ". The idea is supposed to be that the police would have a heads up and, hopefully, approach the individual with more understanding. Traffic stops would probably be the most common time the code on ID would come into play. https://www.autismparentingmagazine.com/protect-people-with-special-needs/
