I'm very good friends with them & have "hooked up" a few times. They both would like more of a committed relationship but I'm not in a position for a relationship right now. We still talk or text at least once a week.

It's not unheard of. Keep the respect of boundaries but if you're really interested, work on yourself and check in with her once in awhile. I've reconnected with a couple of people who I dated when I was younger.
