All five of their albums are fantastic. About 50-60 percent of what they wrote could’ve been singles. There’s one or two duds an album, but when they’re firing on all cylinders, they’re the greatest pop band of their era.

Mother. So infamous a track, I don’t even need to say the band’s name.

That’s a good one. I’m a sucker for that late 70’s guitar sound: not nearly hard rock but too fuzzy for pop. Donnie Iris-Ah Leah also scratches that itch for me.

Reply to comment by MacRubys in TIL Sting is credited with co-writing the Dire Strait's hit song 'Money For Nothing' without writing any of the lyrics. It's because of Sting's singing 'I want my MTV' used the melody from The Police's "Don't Stand So Close To Me" triggered a copyright credit. by shaka_sulu
I believe it was more the manager. Miles Copeland was and is legendary in the music industry for being a bully. Kind of like Allen Klein when he forced the Verve to hand over all the profits to Bittersweet Symphony.
For the Police, he was a fantastic manager, though.

College Radio stations are always the best radio stations for variety. Here is 88.7 KTCU’s link out of Fort Worth. In DFW we’re blessed to have four and a half really good options for non commercial radio.
As always, Fuck Iheart, Audacy, and Cumulus.

Burnt to a crisp. Whatever Iheartradio, Audacy, and Cumulus do whenever they pick up a new song once every year or so.
Please don’t listen to commercial radio. KEXP, College stations, and NPR music affiliates offer a much better variety with much less interruptions.
