I mean everyone is entitled to their own shit sandwich opinions, but we're talking about one of the best adaptations of the past decade. What didn't you like about it?

Audiobooks are great for outside walking, as you're free to use your eyes. Would also be great for a treadmill, but I'm sure you could read on a stationary bike just fine.

Unfortunately I don't have a solid answer for you as I almost exclusively use audible (aside from a few region locked audiobooks that require more questionable methods), but just a tidbit regarding sleep timers. Iphones (and probably android) have a timer app built in, with an option to "Stop Playing" when the timer runs out. This gives you the ability to add a sleep timer to any audio playing through your phone.

Most people don't seem to understand than no human being has EVER has as much pressure to release a quality book as GRRM has on him. That pressure has cooled a bit over the past few years, but it's still vastly more than any of us will experience. That would fuck with anybody.

The implication being, they don't think it's much better like the person they replied to.
