Congrats! Most UConn grad students don’t live in apartments that undergrads are looking for so while under grads are looking now, many people aren’t even commuted to a grad school under the summer months. Lots live in Manchester, definitely some Vernon, and Willimantic is also popular and probably cheapest though do your research before committing. Some neighborhoods are safer than others. UConn has an office of off campus housing - they may be able to help too! Also you could ask your program. Often times grads find others in the same program to live with.

Another vote for BJs, hands down. The seasoning is different at Costco, though I do know a few who prefer Costcos.
