Reply to Philadelphia restaurant operators scramble to comply with new streeterie regulations by nolandeluca
I never have or will eat in one of these streeteries located on parking spaces. My immediate thought when they first started popping up was that someone would crash into them and knowing it has happened several times They should also not be impeding people from using the sidewalks- I often wonder about how folks in wheelchairs manage as it is when many parts of the city have tiny sidewalks in bad condition.

Reply to comment by [deleted] in DAE feel like the city is about to explode and experience massive growth? by ticonderoga-
I'm not clear what you mean by decline of the northeast? The parts of the northeast that I work in have rapid population growth and also house alot of families with young kids so many new schools are being constructed for example, where other parts of the city that is not the case.

This can vary by workplace but I would definitely make sure to check in with HR or whoever does payroll. You should never be shy about asking about first paychecks and pay schedules. Sometimes there are errors with onboarding folks to payroll and it's best to catch those as early as possible so you get paid.
In addition, depending where you are based there are some states where it is legally mandated to pay workers within a particular time frame (i.e. every two weeks at minimum). Employers can get in trouble and owe fees on that unpaid salary in those locations.

Reply to Where should I order Philly pretzels for a wedding favor? by dearjuliette
I was a big fan of the Danish Bakers pretzels when the Phillies were in the playoffs. They don't sell at all times but they will do custom orders often.
