Shows that single-shop unionism leads to divide and conquer tactics, there needs to be a united front between student unions, teacher unions, facilities and service workers on campus. The threat of a strike from all those unified groups guarantees a more even balance of power while negotiating with the administration.

If it means that the teachers have all the supplies, support and benefits they need/deserve to be excellent educators than why would I resent this simple solidarity, happy teachers bring out the most in their students!

I hope they have a strike fund, universities can be terribly exploitative, stubbornly so, for being a place that advertises the emancipatory aspects of education.

Louder for the folks in the back, everyone gets sticker shock at the cost of establishing a rail line but they don't even consider the same cost to set up an arterial road, and more importantly, the severe maintenance cost and inefficient use of space that comes with automobile access.
