Is it ironic that you say Achilles and Patroclus were affectionate in a platonic way and that it's a modern projection to view their relationship as gay when Plato argued that they were lovers? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Symposium_(Plato)

Reply to Reading Resolutions: 2022 by AutoModerator
Just like last year, my goal is to read ~1000 pages/month instead of reading a certain amount of books. I'd also like to get through some of the larger books I own, especially Moby Dick. Also, I'm gonna try and finally setup a little free library outside my home. I've always wanted to do it and I've been putting it off out of sheer laziness.

Emporium Collagia in Fells Point. I was there a couple weeks ago for the first time and they had a lot of cool/interesting/weird stuff.

If I were you, I'd be checking out some of the local breweries. I think Mobtown is the closest to Canton.

That's interesting, you could probably do a whole other book just on pop culture representations.

Haven't watched The Birds in forever, will have to remedy that soon.

Shining is probably my all time fave but The Lighthouse could give it a run for its money (so could The VVitch if I could understand the thick accents). Haven't seen his earlier stuff but I did enjoy X and Pearl.

I will definitely be checking out your books. Were there any people/stories you had to cut from Toil and Trouble that you wish you could have kept?
You've already answered your fave books so how about your favorite horror movies?

There's usually a bunch of popup/maker markets that happen around the holidays. I know last year, I went to ones at Ottobar and R House. Also, one at a brewery near Charles Village but I can't remember the name.
