I appreciate that! It’s funny, I live on .25 acres in West Hartford which is about as far from homesteading as you can get, and I’m kind of locked into my current lifestyle with wife kids and job, but I think about homesteading often.
I’d like to start growing food both outdoors and indoors, just to practice and learn new skills. Chickens are illegal in west hartford but any other ways to make best use of little land is of interest me me!

r/homestead is a pretty great place though not CT specific. It’s escape fantasy for me, but it’s cool to see what people are doing.

Reply to What do you love about New Haven? by lavalamplass
New Haven is big enough to always have something new and interesting to offer but small and beautifully green enough to not feel like an urban hellscape.
I live in a suburb of Hartford now, but if I had it to do again I’d pick New Haven. My wife and I are even considering retiring there!

No it’s sincere. I think he’s done an excellent job on a variety of issues from covid response to paying down pension debt. He strikes me as a genuinely good and well meaning person. Not the kind of person who would make veiled insults about people with disabilities.

Ned’s the best. We’re lucky to live in CT.

This happened in 2018. I woke up at like 4am and Bob was up by like +10. The cities and large towns hadn’t reported much yet and they delivered Ned by the next day.
Same thing happened in 2020 in PA.

We got a very good Easter dinner from Bears last year. I know they do thanksgiving too. The flavour is very smoky which might put some off, but I liked it!

A call from a parent to the principal or even the superintendent should get this resolved.

I second Heublein tower. Fun and rewarding hike and you can go to Talcott Mountain Collective after.

I get that. I always tell my wife that it’s like we live in a dorm for grown ups. You have some space in your house but you can’t go outside without having to interact.
That being said there’s allot to like. We live in th e new cross town bike path which is cool. I love being able to bike anywhere I need to go.
