That none of us can get a permit for 😃. We'll see how the lottery goes again this year. I'll get there!

Siouxon Creek is a stunner, one of our all time favorites. South side of St Helens.

Thanks for that! I'm just trying to get the area and hazards figured out.

I am just starting to explore Baker in the winter and LOVE Heather Meadows/Artists Point but am also just beginning to understand avalanche awareness and how to navigate. One of the things that is stressed in almost any class/group is that Bagley Lakes is an extremely dangerous terrain trap with a high probability of avalanches from that mountain face just out of the photo on the right. Had NWAC lowered their Avvy Danger yesterday?

definitely too early to access the alpine in the Cascades, either North near Bellingham or South by Seattle, but if you snowshoe you can easily access Artists Point on Mt Baker is avvy conditions are in agreement. Also understand that in April you are dealing with the weather which is hit or miss, mostly miss ;-), at that time of the year.

Baker Lake Trail East Side can be a gorgeous hike if the clouds cooperate, and is a great hike even if they don't ;-)
