In a sense it is true. The values of the West would like for everyone to have the fundamental freedoms like a free society, choices on how to live their life, individual liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Pewtin and fellow autocrats think that they should have absolute power and decide who gets what, when and how. It kind of is about different philosophies having dominion.

Really more then anything this highlights the absolute need for the Rule of Law. The NSA violated the law spying on Americans. Hopefully it has therefor ended, but who can be sure? If we, the American public, had imparted the demand for the Rule of Law in no uncertain terms on our elected officials, we could be sure.

Instead, we have separated ourselves into tribes that will put up with a little bullshit if it helps our side or disadvantaged the other side. As a result we get the corruption in government that we deserve, because we show ourselves to be at least somewhat corrupt as a society.

Samsung is a juggernaut. They keep expanding in the area. Tesla is not really online yet, but I drive by the facility from time to time. It’s huge and there is a lot of activity there.

Don’t forget Applied Materials, which is huge here. They build the machines that build the semiconductors. Not to mention Apple having thirty buildings or so, IBM, AMD, Oracle, Dell and a ton of other tech giants.

Austin is like San Francisco’s little brother.
