Reply to Terrible/boring music taste? by Aftertheinsanity
I can relate. I know the entire catalogs of Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Bruce Springsteen, Radiohead, Sigur Ros and a few others, and apart from that my music knowledge is basically limited to the 200 most popular classic rock songs.
I enjoy it so I stick with it. Don't tell yourself you're "boring" and try to change because of that; just do what you enjoy.

I don't have depression (not that I know of, at least) but I do have some pretty depressed episodes sometimes.
In those moments I try to cheer myself up by looking at all the good things I have, and at the things I love. On a particularly bad day, it all just does nothing to me. As if I wouldn't feel a single thing if it all disappeared right then and there.
So yeah, I can very clearly imagine depression making a person feel empty during such a moment where they know they're supposed to feel happy.

Gotta say, this crop of the painting makes it lose some of its magic.
A brilliant part of the original painting is the two people walking away from the viewer in the background. They either are unaware or choose to ignore the person in despair, which adds a whole 'nother layer of helplessness.

The latter.
You have to understand humanity's biggest talent: to use absolutely any medium, no matter how primitive or inconvenient, for sexual gratification.
Once people invested time into making ASCII art, it was inevitable that they'd be making ASCII porn.

I know making them red would have fucked up the color composition of this picture, but I can't get over those white rear lights.

Reply to comment by burgonies in Ludwig von Beethoven’s DNA reveals he probably died of liver damage by joelkeys0519
I am so glad I'm not the only one wondering this.
€10 says they figured out that he had genetic predisposition to certain liver related conditions, and that "he died from it" is pure speculation.
Edit: first paragraph, lmao.
> Genetic analysis of Ludwig van Beethoven’s hair has revealed that the composer had a high genetic risk for liver disease, which could have contributed to his death.
What a horrible title for an otherwise interesting trivia article.
